NB-CCI Hosts High-Level Investment Dialogue with Global Indian Network Founder
Strategic meeting explores major investment corridors in Benin and Nigeria, sets stage for formal partnership framework
The Chamber's Governing Board convened a landmark strategic session on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, welcoming Mr. Rajan Nazran, Founder of the Global Indian Network and NazranRoth, for high-level discussions on emerging investment opportunities across the Republic of Benin and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The meeting, chaired by the Board President, Alhaji Adegboyega Shokunbi, brought together the Chamber's full Governing Board including Madam Ngozi Oyewole, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, DCG BM Jibo, Amb. Nicky Maxwell, Madam Malika Moumne, and Director General Mr. Emmanuel Essien.
A Gateway to West African Investment
The meeting focused on mapping the region's most promising investment frontiers—from port modernization and agro-industrial value chains to energy transition infrastructure and digital ecosystems. With Benin positioning itself as a critical logistics and trade gateway to West Africa, and Nigeria offering scale across multiple sectors, the dialogue underscored the strategic complementarity between the two markets.
Mr. Nazran presented Global Indian Network/NazranRoth's partnership-driven investment philosophy, emphasizing long-term capital deployment aligned with national development priorities and measurable stakeholder impact. The Board, in turn, outlined the macro-economic reform trajectory, sector-specific openings, and the Chamber's mandate to facilitate structured, transparent foreign direct investment.
Toward a Formal Partnership
A central outcome of the meeting was the mutual commitment to develop a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will frame the scope of cooperation between the Chamber and the Global Indian Network / NazranRoth. The proposed MOU will establish:
- Priority sectors for joint due diligence and project origination
- Governance principles anchored in transparency, mutual benefit, and risk-sharing
- Technical working groups to advance sectoral assessments
- Designated focal points to drive implementation timelines
The existing Governing Board was formally ratified as the oversight body for the engagement, ensuring robust governance and strategic alignment throughout the partnership lifecycle.
Looking Ahead
Both delegations expressed strong optimism about the potential for a transformative economic partnership. The Chamber views this engagement as a pivotal step in deepening South-South investment flows and accelerating private-sector-led development across the Benin-Nigeria corridor.
Technical teams have been directed to advance draft documentation and sectoral briefs ahead of a follow-up meeting, the date of which will be confirmed in due course.
